Having been a public sector auditor and accountant for almost 38 years and moved recently to one of the big 4 accounting firms it was refreshing to see that my new employers actively encourage all staff to undertake voluntary work in the area where they undertake most of their work. The opportunity to become a Trustee was instigated through my involvement with the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group. The aims and objectives of the charity are so clear and needed that I didn’t hesitate to volunteer my services. I’m hoping that I can apply my vast experience to help the organisation stabilise and develop not only in the expected governance and accountability areas but also in terms of helping to generate a consistent funding streams.
